Summary:
Company is developing the future of AI glasses and cutting-edge robotics. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the RL-R Engineering team and help translate new hardware concepts into functional, integrated consumer devices through fast, iterative design cycles.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, versatile engineer with a consumer-electronics mindset who can take ownership of PCB design from early concept through integration, bring-up, and validation.
Responsibilities
- Drive PCB layout and schematic design across multiple concurrent hardware development cycles.
- Own end-to-end board design from concept through bring-up, supporting rapid prototypes and product-ready builds.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, optical, firmware, and manufacturing engineers for seamless device integration.
- Support design verification, board bring-up, debugging, and validation testing.
- Work with contract manufacturers and component suppliers to ensure DFM/DFA compliance.
- Participate in design reviews, signal integrity analysis, and design documentation within a controlled environment.
- Contribute across multiple hardware workstreams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5–7 years of hands-on PCB design experience.
- Proven experience designing PCBs for consumer electronics products with a track record of shipping integrated hardware.
- Proficiency with industry-standard PCB layout and schematic design tools.
- Experience working in a document-controlled engineering environment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and contribute across multiple hardware development activities.
Skills
- Experience working at a startup or smaller company with broad ownership across the hardware lifecycle.
- Experience with wearable or head-mounted consumer electronics.
- Knowledge of high-speed digital, RF, or mixed-signal design in compact form factors.
- Experience with flex and rigid-flex PCB design.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power delivery, and thermal management for consumer devices.
- Familiarity with electrical system drivers, automation equipment, and bench debugging tools.
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $70.00 - $80.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
