Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer with 10+ years of Electrical/Hardware Design experience and strong expertise in mixed-signal analog and digital design. The role requires hands-on experience in high-speed PCB design, power tree architecture, processor and FPGA ecosystems, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, hardware validation, and board-level troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong schematic and PCB design ownership, Xpedition experience, advanced laboratory instrumentation skills, and technical leadership capabilities.

Key Skills

  • Mixed-signal analog and digital design, schematic and PCB design, and high-speed PCB routing and layout for DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, and QSPI with strict impedance control.
  • Power tree architecture and complex DC-DC power management networks using buck and boost regulators, LDO regulators, and sequencing; power integrity, thermal management, and component derating.
  • Processor and FPGA ecosystems, including advanced microprocessors, microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V, and FPGAs; FPGA board bring-up and hardware validation.
  • Signal integrity and EMI/EMC, including mitigation of noise, crosstalk, and electromagnetic interference to ensure FCC, CE, automotive, and aerospace compliance.
  • Communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Advanced laboratory instrumentation, including digital storage oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Advanced component-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, board bring-up, hardware validation, thermal management, and de-rating analysis.
  • Enterprise EDA and PCB design tools, including Xpedition, with additional experience in Altium or Cadence Allegro preferred.
  • Technical leadership, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, driving design reviews, and managing cross-functional dependencies with firmware, mechanical, and software teams.
  • Project management activities including architectural trade-off analyses, component selection matrices, project scheduling, and budgeting.

Required Qualifications

  • B.E., B.Tech., M.S., or M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant Electrical/Hardware Design experience, with strong preference for 12+ years of hands-on hardware design experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in mixed-signal analog and digital design.
  • Strong high-speed PCB design experience with DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, and QSPI.
  • Hands-on experience with power tree architecture, DC-DC converters, LDOs, and power sequencing.
  • Experience with FPGA, ARM, and RISC-V ecosystems.
  • Strong experience with signal integrity and EMI/EMC.
  • Hands-on experience with I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Strong schematic and PCB design ownership and experience with Xpedition.
  • Experience leading technical teams and design reviews.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Dublin, CA.

Additional Skills

  • Aerospace, automotive, medical, or semiconductor industry background.
  • Board bring-up and hardware validation experience.
  • Thermal management and component derating experience.
  • FCC, CE, automotive, and aerospace compliance experience.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience.
  • DDR5 and PCIe Gen4+ experience.
  • Power integrity experience.
  • FPGA board bring-up experience.
  • Altium or Cadence Allegro experience.
  • Master's degree.
