Job Description
SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST/SharePoint
Estimated start date: September 21st
Top 3 Nice-To-Haves
The client recently completed a Box-to-SharePoint migration, but much of that content now needs a more thoughtful redesign, understanding how each business group actually handles documents and workflows, then re-mapping that to a proper SharePoint architecture. The strategic driver is the same as the Engineer role: getting content clean and well-governed enough to safely open it up to Gemini (AI).
The BA''s role is business-facing rather than technical: engineering will supply system reports identifying likely site owners (and flag the 500+ sites with no identified owner at all, out of roughly 10,000 base sites plus a multiplier from Teams-linked private/shared channels). The BA then goes to the actual business groups to verify ownership, learn real workflows, and identify sensitivities (external sharing, confidential or restricted information), including a light training/explanation component, since these conversations often require first explaining how SharePoint works.

- W2 ONLY - No C2C, 3rd Parties, or Sponsorship
- W2 Pay rate: $55.00/Hr - USD $65.00/Hr.
- Senior (over 10 years), business-facing maturity — comfortable navigating corporate bureaucracy and engaging stakeholders from managers up to SVP level
- Strong organizational instincts — akin to a project planner/product manager, able to sequence future workload based on current state
- Working conceptual knowledge of SharePoint — enough to explain it to business users without over-indexing on technical depth
Top 3 Nice-To-Haves
- Direct prior experience on a similar SharePoint transformation/migration project
- Comfort working with highly sensitive or guarded stakeholder groups (e.g., corporate reporting, business development) where content can''t be shown directly

Must-Have Requirements
- Seasoned, corporate-tested professional; not a first-tour analyst; must know how to work bureaucracy and talk to varied business functions (R&D, finance, legal, commercial, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal / soft skills — explicitly not a pure-technical profile; needs to read people and negotiate ownership questions diplomatically
- Able to operate within an established SharePoint architecture (sites, sub-sites, libraries, folders) without needing to design it
- Comfortable verifying and correcting system-generated assumptions (e.g., confirming or disputing a presumed site owner) directly with business stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Verify or correct system-identified site ownership directly with business stakeholders, including investigating unowned sites
- Learn and document each group''s real document handling, workflows, and sharing/security needs (external users, confidential content)
- Produce functional requirements, specifications, and technical requirements deliverables
- Understand and work within the current (“as-is”) and target (“to-be”) business SharePoint architecture per group
- Support (primarily modify, not originate) the source-to-target mapping in partnership with the Engineer role
- Provide light conceptual SharePoint education to business stakeholders as needed to enable productive conversations
- Standard M365 suite — Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Miro and/or Visio — for conceptual and architecture diagramming
- SharePoint — reader-level access only
- JIRA and Smartsheet — used by the project manager for task/Gantt tracking; not this role''s primary tools
