Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager with strong domain expertise in Prime Brokerage and a solid understanding of Capital Markets to lead strategic business and technology initiatives within an investment banking environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing end-to-end projects across Prime Brokerage operations, securities financing, stock lending and borrowing, margin and collateral management, trade lifecycle processing, and hedge fund client servicing.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, front-office, middle-office, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and product teams to deliver complex initiatives, improve operational efficiency, mitigate risk, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prime Brokerage Domain Expertise

• Lead projects focused on Prime Brokerage business processes, platforms, and operational workflows.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Prime Brokerage services offered to hedge funds, institutional investors, and other financial institutions.
• Manage initiatives related to client onboarding, account setup, trade allocation, position management, cash management, and client reporting.
• Oversee projects involving securities lending and borrowing, stock loan, short selling, and securities financing.
• Drive initiatives related to margin processing, margin calls, collateral management, and portfolio financing.
• Coordinate enhancements to Prime Brokerage platforms supporting trade processing, settlement, reconciliation, and client servicing.
• Collaborate with business and operations teams to identify process gaps, improve controls, and streamline workflows.

2. Securities Finance, Margin & Collateral Management

• Manage projects involving securities finance, financing transactions, and stock loan operations.
• Oversee initiatives related to collateral optimization, collateral movements, margin calculation, and exposure monitoring.
• Work with risk, treasury, and operations teams on counterparty exposure, liquidity, financing, and operational risk.
• Coordinate integration across securities lending, collateral management, settlement, and accounting systems.
• Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of client positions, balances, financing activities, and collateral movements.

3. Capital Markets & Trade Lifecycle

• Apply a strong understanding of Capital Markets products, trading workflows, and securities processing.
• Manage initiatives spanning trade capture, trade allocation, clearing, settlement, and post-trade processing.
• Coordinate dependencies between Prime Brokerage platforms and front-office trading, middle-office, and back-office systems.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve trade breaks, reconciliation issues, data discrepancies, and downstream processing challenges.
• Support integration initiatives involving equities, derivatives, securities financing, and related financial products.

4. Project & Program Management

• Lead projects end to end, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
• Develop and maintain project plans, delivery milestones, budgets, resource plans, RAID logs, and governance documentation.
• Manage scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, issues, and change requests.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and external vendors.
• Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, executive reviews, and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure delivery against agreed business objectives, timelines, budget, and quality standards.

5. Technology Transformation & Implementation

• Partner with product owners, business analysts, solution architects, development teams, and QA teams to define and implement business solutions.
• Translate business requirements into functional deliverables, project plans, and implementation roadmaps.
• Manage platform enhancements, system integrations, data migration, and process automation initiatives.
• Oversee UAT planning, test execution, defect resolution, implementation readiness, and production deployment.
• Drive technology modernization and operational transformation initiatives across Prime Brokerage platforms.
• Ensure appropriate controls, documentation, audit readiness, and change management practices are followed.

6. Stakeholder & Risk Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with Prime Brokerage business heads, operations leaders, technology teams, and product managers.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve delivery challenges, and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Communicate project progress, key decisions, risks, and escalations to senior management.
• Ensure alignment with applicable regulatory requirements, internal controls, and operational risk standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of project or program management experience within investment banking or financial services.
• Significant hands-on domain experience in Prime Brokerage.
• Strong understanding of securities lending and borrowing, stock loan, securities financing, margin, collateral, and hedge fund servicing.
• Knowledge of Prime Brokerage trade lifecycle processes, including trade allocation, settlement, reconciliation, position management, and client reporting.
• Experience delivering complex business and technology transformation projects.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, project budgets, schedules, risks, and dependencies.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with global investment banks, prime brokers, hedge funds, or broker-dealers.
• Familiarity with Prime Brokerage, securities finance, collateral management, and post-trade processing platforms.
• Experience integrating Prime Brokerage systems with trading, risk, treasury, settlement, and accounting applications.
• Knowledge of regulatory and operational risk requirements relevant to Prime Brokerage.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
• Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, APIs, and enterprise system integration concepts.
