We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM i RPG Developer to support and modernize mission-critical business applications. In this role, you will design, enhance, maintain, troubleshoot, and support IBM i (AS/400) applications that support key financial and business operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in RPG IV/ILE RPG, CL, DB2 for i, and SQL, along with experience supporting financial systems, particularly Accounts Receivable (AR). This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to modernization initiatives involving legacy RPG applications and newer technologies.

<>Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Work extensively with RPG IV, ILE RPG, Free-Form RPG, CL, DB2 for i, and SQL.
• Support and enhance mission-critical financial applications, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve complex application problems.
• Perform application performance tuning and ongoing production support.
• Develop and support integrations using SQL and web services.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and business users to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Analyze and modernize legacy RPG applications and codebases.
• Participate in application modernization initiatives, including potential RPG-to-.NET migration efforts.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on application development experience using RPG on IBM i / AS/400.
• Strong expertise in RPG IV / ILE RPG.
• Strong experience with CL and DB2 for i.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and web services.
• Experience supporting financial or accounting systems, including:
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • General Ledger (GL)
• Strong experience supporting, troubleshooting, and enhancing legacy applications.
• Experience contributing to application modernization initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Free-Form RPG.
• Experience migrating or modernizing applications from RPG to .NET.
• Knowledge of IBM i system administration concepts.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards (JDE).
• Experience with ASNA Visual RPG.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
