Role: Product Support Engineer - Rolling Stock (Electrical Bias)Location: UK Wide - ideally Midlands, but candidates from across the UK will be consideredSalary: £45,000 per annum + extensive overtimeHours: 40 hours per week + regular overtimeEmployment Type: PermanentTravel: Regularly travelling around the UK and digging out.

The Role:We are currently recruiting for a Product Support Engineer - Electrical to join an established team working across the UK rail industry.This is a highly varied, hands-on role involving fault finding, diagnostics, modifications and retrofits on locomotives and rolling stock.Projects can include work on Avanti Pendolinos, Class 176s, new Class 24 deep-tube stock and Irish DARTs, among other rolling stock projects.The role will involve significant UK-wide travel, with approximately 90% of the working week requiring lodging away from home.The standard working week is 40 hours, although there is significant opportunity for overtime, with engineers currently averaging around 10 hours of overtime per week.Key Responsibilities* Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on rolling stock* Carrying out retrofit and modification work on locomotives and passenger rolling stock* Investigating and resolving electrical and technical faults* Working on braking and other vehicle systems* Supporting a range of UK and international rolling stock projects* Completing work safely and to the required engineering standards* Travelling to customer sites and projects across the UKAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced electrically biased engineer with a strong background in the rail industry.Essential:* Previous rolling stock experience* Strong electrical engineering/fault-finding background* Full UK driving licence* Willingness to travel extensively and lodge away from homeDesirable:* Experience with braking systems* Experience with sanding systems* Previous retrofit/modification experience* Experience working on locomotives or passenger rolling stockWhat's on Offer:* £45,000* Significant overtime opportunities - Engineers currently averaging around 10 hours' overtime per week* Company van provided for business use and expenses* Company credit card* Door-to-door travel time paid, from leaving home rather than only once arriving on site* Accommodation/lodging provided when working away* Opportunity to work on a wide variety of major UK rail projectsIf you're an experienced Electrical Rolling Stock Engineer looking for a role with excellent overtime potential, varied projects and the opportunity to work across some major rail programmes, we'd like to hear from you.
