Senior API Developer (Python/Gunicorn)

Onsite role in Soth Denver, open-ended consulting engagement

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable REST APIs and microservices


• Build backend services using Python (Flask/Gunicorn) and Java


• Develop and maintain API integrations with internal and external systems


• Design and optimize data models across SQL and NoSQL databases


• Troubleshoot production issues and improve API performance, scalability, and reliability


• Participate in CI/CD, testing, and deployment automation


• Collaborate with product, architecture, and network engineering teams

Required Skills

• 5+ years API development experience


• Strong Python development experience with Flask and Gunicorn


• Strong Java development experience


• Experience building and consuming REST APIs


• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)


• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar


• API testing using Postman or similar tools

Preferred Skills

• Docker and Kubernetes


• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)


• Microservices architecture


• Telecommunications, Wireless, AAA/RADIUS, or network services experience


• Experience supporting customer-facing, high-availability systems
