Senior Electrical Designer (Retail Remodel Program)
Location: Remote (Must reside in an approved hiring state)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $34-$55/hour (flexible)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support a large-scale retail remodel program. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical design professional who can quickly contribute to active projects while serving as a technical resource and mentor to junior team members.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience supporting retail remodel projects, strong proficiency in Revit, and the ability to develop electrical construction documents in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical design experience in commercial building projects
• Experience supporting retail remodel or renovation projects
• Target remodel experience required
• Strong proficiency with Revit
• Experience developing complete electrical drawing packages and construction documents
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, design standards, and applicable codes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced designers

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
• AutoCAD experience
• Experience coordinating with architecture, mechanical, refrigeration, and other engineering disciplines
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring junior designers
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs and construction documents for commercial retail projects
• Create and maintain electrical models and drawings using Revit
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform design calculations, code reviews, and quality control checks
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments
• Incorporate client standards and requirements into project designs
• Resolve design and construction-related issues
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
• Deliver efficient, high-quality, and constructible electrical design solutions

• Prior experience supporting Target remodel projects is required
• Strong electrical design background with commercial project experience
• Someone who can contribute immediately and assist in developing junior talent
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment
