Job Description
An established fintech SaaS technology organization is currently hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Technical Operations team in Pleasanton, CA. This is a full-time hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite and focuses on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes operations, automation, platform reliability, and cloud-native technologies across public cloud environments.
This role will support the continued growth and scalability of a cloud-based enterprise software platform. The engineer will be responsible for operating and improving highly available infrastructure, managing containerized environments, advancing automation initiatives, supporting database platforms, and enhancing observability and operational efficiency. The position involves hands-on work across cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, open-source technologies, and production systems while partnering with engineering teams to strengthen reliability, scalability, and cloud-native best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- Professional experience building and operating cloud-native applications using Kubernetes and Docker
- Hands-on experience running Kubernetes and containerized workloads in production environments
- Experience supporting AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or similar public cloud platforms
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code and automation experience using Terraform or comparable technologies
- Strong cloud infrastructure administration and cloud-native operations experience
- Experience with shell scripting and infrastructure automation
- Strong Linux or Windows systems administration background
- Experience developing or supporting production web applications
- Programming or scripting experience with Go, Java, C#, PowerShell, Ruby, or similar technologies
- Experience supporting distributed production environments at scale
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, distributed systems, and software development processes
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to develop clean, maintainable automation and operational tooling
- Experience operating Kubernetes outside of managed public cloud environments, including bare-metal deployments
- Experience supporting multiple public cloud providers
- Experience administering PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server
- Experience supporting Jenkins, Artifactory, Consul, or related DevOps platforms
- Experience with Prometheus, Fluentd, Elasticsearch, or other observability technologies
- Experience contributing to open-source projects
- Background working within SaaS or product-focused engineering organizations
- Experience supporting highly scalable enterprise software platforms
- Experience working in FedRAMP or other compliance-driven environments
