Business Analyst – Life Sciences

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Life Sciences domain expertise to support business process, technology, and system initiatives within a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, scientific teams, IT, quality, and functional groups to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate requirements-gathering workshops.
• Develop BRDs, FRDs, URS, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
• Work closely with Life Sciences, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, and IT teams.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technical teams.
• Support application implementations, enhancements, integrations, and system upgrades.
• Develop test scenarios, test cases, and support UAT activities.
• Coordinate with QA and validation teams to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Track requirements, defects, issues, risks, and project deliverables.
• Support change management, training, and end-user documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
• Provide ongoing production support and perform root-cause analysis for business/system issues.

Required Skills

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst in the Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industry.
• Excellent knowledge of requirements gathering and business process analysis.
• Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, URS, user stories, process maps, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong experience with UAT, test planning, and validation.
• Knowledge of Life Sciences systems such as LIMS, ELN, ERP, SDMS, CDS, or R&D platforms is highly preferred.
• Understanding of GxP, CSV, data integrity, and 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus.
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Visio/Lucidchart, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 3+ years of Business Analysis experience within the Life Sciences domain.
• Experience working with pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools is a plus.
• Experience working in regulated environments is highly desirable.
