Job Title: Integration Business Analyst – EDI & Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM)

Location: Remote – USA

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Integration Business Analyst with hands-on experience in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), warehouse management systems, and Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into effective EDI integration solutions, supporting transaction mapping, and facilitating seamless data exchange between internal systems, trading partners, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

The role requires a strong understanding of warehouse and distribution processes, X12 EDI standards, and integration workflows involving transaction sets such as 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order), 945 (Warehouse Shipping Advice), 943 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Shipment Advice), 944 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice), 856 (Advance Ship Notice), and 997 (Functional Acknowledgment).

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, warehouse operations teams, and IT groups to identify, evaluate, and document EDI integration requirements for supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Analyze, design, and maintain EDI transaction mappings for Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM), including 940, 945, 943, 944, 856, 997, and other relevant transaction sets.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications covering data mapping rules, transformation logic, business validations, and interface requirements using integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, or equivalent tools.
  • Work closely with technical developers, EDI consultants, application teams, and external trading partners to implement and maintain reliable system-to-system integrations.
  • Plan and execute integration testing activities, including unit testing support, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-to-end transaction validation.
  • Investigate EDI processing errors, identify root causes, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Serve as the primary functional point of contact between business users, warehouse teams, logistics providers, and technical delivery teams throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain business requirements documents, functional design documents, interface specifications, mapping documents, process diagrams, and test scenarios.
  • Track production EDI transactions, monitor integration performance, and coordinate issue resolution to minimize disruptions to warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Support implementation activities, production releases, go-live readiness, post-launch stabilization, and onboarding of new trading partners and 3PL providers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst supporting EDI integrations and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI standards, particularly transaction sets 940, 945, 943, 944, 856, and 997.
  • Practical experience with Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM) or comparable WMS solutions.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive EDI mapping specifications, functional requirements, interface documentation, and integration process flows.
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, inventory movements, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and distribution processes.
  • Experience with middleware and integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with inbound and outbound EDI processing, data transformations, transaction acknowledgments, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail, wholesale distribution, supply chain, or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
  • Exposure to API integrations, web services, and hybrid integration models combining EDI and API-based communication.
  • Knowledge of Advance Ship Notices (ASNs), inventory reconciliation, warehouse transfers, shipment processing, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Experience supporting trading partner implementation, EDI certification, production deployments, and post-go-live support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
