Job Description
The Epic Beaker Senior Application Analyst oversees the design, build, and implementation of laboratory workflows at Maimonides Health. Key responsibilities include managing the complex integration between Epic Beaker, Inpatient Orders, and legacy Laboratory Information Systems (specifically Sunquest LIS), performing rigorous end-to-end testing, and ensuring seamless lab ordering and resulting workflows.

responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate Maimonides SQ LIS with Epic, without disrupting the current Cerner LIS connections and build
- Analyze compendiums and resolve differences
- Manage and perform MRT testing
- Interview users and stakeholders to develop business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Create test plans, technical documentation, release notes, end?user guides, and training materials.
- Analyze and document business processes; communicate requirements through data models, process flowcharts, and technical specifications.
- Break down gathered information into detailed data sources, data types, user roles, interface needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs.
- Present concepts clearly using narratives, diagrams, and storyboards.
- Research industry practices, analyze data, and deliver findings in written or oral presentations with visual aids.
- Coordinate user groups and project teams, including scheduling meetings and managing minutes and follow?up activities.
- Collaborate across teams to create designs, mockups, and prototypes.
- Explain technical design issues to non?technical audiences.
- Contribute effectively within a fast?paced team environment.
- Lead business initiatives involving complex projects.
- Work within timelines and resource constraints defined by the PMO.
- Maintain ongoing communication with users, managers, directors, and vendors to support current initiatives.
- Demonstrate experience with HL7 communications and working in a PMO with cross?functional teams.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Maintain current Epic certification (current or one version prior).
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and a solid background in clinical healthcare technologies and processes.
qualifications:
Certification(S)/Nys License(S):
- Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one year
- Epic Certification
Other Preferred Skills:
- Clinical Background (preferred)
- At least 2 full life-cycle implementations (preferred)
Educational Level:
- A Master's Degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience serving as a lead in soliciting, defining, and managing requirements for internally and externally developed software in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area: or, one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
- A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience as described above; or
- A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
Years of Experience:
- 2-5 years' experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications.
