Job Description

Team CBH is growing! We are looking for an experienced and strategic Purchasing Director to lead the teams and partnerships that keep CBH homes moving from bids and budgets through construction and field-ready execution.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead CBH's Purchasing team and provide leadership across Construction Services, Scheduling, Trade Partners, Vendors, and Suppliers
  • Oversee sourcing agreements, bidding, contracts, budgets, pricing, and purchasing strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Develop strategies that support cost control, labor continuity, construction schedules, and cycle-time commitments
  • Monitor vendor and trade partner performance and hold partners accountable to expectations
  • Work closely with construction and scheduling teams to ensure homes remain on track and field teams have the resources they need
  • Lead the resolution of field issues involving vendors, suppliers, trade partners, pricing, materials, and scheduling
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, strengthen partnerships, optimize the supply chain, and reduce costs
  • Develop and manage strategies that support CBH's continued growth and construction goals
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Purchasing team

Important skills for this role:

  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Extensive knowledge of residential construction, purchasing, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners
  • Proven experience with bidding, contracts, negotiations, budgets, pricing, and cost control
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, labor continuity, cycle times, and field operations
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on finding practical solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to build accountability and strong performance across internal teams and external partners

This is a full-time leadership position based out of CBH Homes’ headquarters in Meridian, Idaho, available now.

This position is Full-time, Monday through Friday.

  • Proven leadership experience in purchasing, procurement, construction operations, or a related field
  • Extensive experience working with trade partners, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and the homebuilding process
  • Experience managing bids, contracts, budgets, pricing, and cost strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive accountability and performance
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with Trade Partners
  • Highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines, goals, and objectives
