Title: Java Backend Services Developer V

Location: Virtual, Illinois (Remote)

Length: 6+ months

W2 Only

Pay Range: $82-$92

Role Overview

This position involves managing Java/Java EE application development and providing expertise throughout the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. The role requires defining site objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop user interfaces for internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout the development life cycle.
• Determine design methodologies and tool sets, completing programming using various languages and software products.
• Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
• Design and conduct tests to ensure application quality and performance.
• Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of hands-on JAVA/Spring Boot development experience.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of cloud and event-driven architecture, microservices, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) architectural style.
• Proficiency with AWS, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Object-Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Experience in the Spring Framework.
• Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating microservices.
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and Kafka.
• Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift (Red Hat).
