HVAC & Building Systems Engineer - Commercial Real Estate

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer I to support day-to-day operations of a commercial property. You will perform routine and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, respond to work orders, troubleshoot issues, and support vendor and contractor activities. The role includes monitoring building automation systems, performing inspections, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, documenting work, and assisting with energy-efficient and sustainability initiatives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
• Respond to tenant and client work orders and troubleshoot building system issues
• Monitor and adjust building automation and control systems for comfort and efficiency
• Support vendors and contractors, including site access, oversight, and safety compliance
• Conduct regular building inspections and document findings and repairs
• Maintain maintenance logs, work order documentation, and inventory of parts and supplies
• Assist with implementing energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety, building codes, and company policies
• Support emergency response, including after-hours calls as needed
• Collaborate with property management and engineering team to improve building performance
