HVAC Controls Systems Engineer - Building Automation

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and configure HVAC control systems for wholesale and commercial customers in alignment with Johnson Controls standards and project requirements.
• Support the Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management teams by translating mechanical and electrical designs into detailed control system strategies and sequences of operation.
• Participate in FLY Team deployments, traveling to customer sites as needed to perform field engineering, system startup, commissioning, and issue resolution on accelerated timelines.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, sales engineers, and field technicians to ensure control solutions meet performance, energy efficiency, and safety objectives.
• Analyze building performance data and control trends to fine-tune system parameters, improve energy efficiency, and enhance occupant comfort and safety.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex control issues, both remotely and on-site, serving as a technical escalation point for regional service teams.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including control drawings, point lists, network diagrams, and as-built records for all assigned projects.
• Ensure all solutions align with relevant codes, standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and Johnson Controls quality processes.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to local branches and technicians on new control platforms, tools, and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to standardize designs, improve reliability, and accelerate deployment for future projects.
