Job Description
TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Press Coordinator to support fast-paced strategic communications and public affairs campaigns. In this role, you will draft press materials, maintain media lists, monitor news coverage, and coordinate outreach that advances client policy and advocacy goals. You will help organize press events, track media results, and support rapid-response communications. Working in a small, collaborative team, you'll partner closely with senior strategists, learn the dynamics of Washington media and public policy, and contribute to high-impact advocacy initiatives for corporate, nonprofit, and association clients.
Responsibilities
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points that support client campaigns
- Maintain and update targeted media lists and contact databases
- Monitor daily news coverage and prepare media clips and reports for clients and internal teams
- Coordinate press outreach, including pitching reporters and scheduling interviews or briefings
- Support planning and logistics for press conferences, media calls, and public events
- Assist with rapid-response communications on fast-moving policy and political issues
- Track, analyze, and summarize media results and campaign performance metrics
- Collaborate with senior strategists to align press efforts with broader advocacy and public affairs strategies
- Support content development for digital and social channels related to press activities
