Job description

Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Client is building Student 360: one student profile that powers every touchpoint, from first inquiry through graduation. The program spans AI learning companions, a student mentor, a student portal, a consolidated CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and a central data lake. More than twenty initiatives are live or planned, delivered by and several other partners.

As Solution Architect, you are the technical owner of that ecosystem. You decide how the pieces connect, set the standards every build is reviewed against, and keep the architecture portable and owned by the client. You work at startup pace: small teams, real pilots with real students, and scale decisions driven by measured outcomes.

What you'll do

•        Own the target-state architecture for the student journey: the Student 360 data layer, where predictive and AI models run, and how the AI companions, student portal and CRM share one student profile.

•        Define integration patterns and data contracts for how data flows from SIS, LMS (Canvas), CRM, conversations and outcomes into the data lake. Act as architecture authority on the CRM consolidation and student portal releases.

•        Set and run architecture review. Every partner, vendor and build is reviewed against agreed standards before steering-committee approval: the technical gate in the pilot-to-scale process.

•        Make portability concrete: data contracts, model and IP ownership, the planned move of AI infrastructure to client-managed hosting, and exit criteria per vendor. Verify that builds honor them.

•        Partner with the client's integrations architect. You own what connects and why; they own how (patterns and build oversight).

•        Be the technical counterpart to 's Head of Product on tenancy and configuration boundaries, so capabilities can be reused without compromising the client's ownership.

•        Design security and compliance into the architecture with the client's IT Security team: FERPA data boundaries, auditability, and enforcement points for human review of AI activity.

•        Work hand in hand with delivery: guide the Technical PM, engineers and QA on platform decisions, and help scope and size new work.

•        Mentor technical staff, including the client's AI Solutions Engineer, and translate trade-offs clearly for executives.

What you bring

•        10+ years in solution or enterprise architecture, with real depth in data architecture, SaaS and platform integration, and CRM ecosystems.

•        A track record of designing data architectures and data contracts that unify records from many source systems into one trusted profile.

•        Hands-on integration experience with modern patterns: SSO (SAML, OIDC), SCIM, REST and GraphQL APIs, and event-driven integration.

•        AI/ML system literacy: you know what a model contract, an evaluation framework and a retraining loop are, and how LLM-based agents are deployed and governed.

•        Experience leading architecture review and governance: setting standards, reviewing third-party builds, and gating go-live decisions.

•        Experience negotiating technical positions with vendors and partners, including tenancy, configuration boundaries, portability and exit criteria.

•        Experience working with security and compliance teams in a regulated environment (FERPA, HIPAA or GDPR).

•        Clear written and spoken communication, including explaining deep trade-offs to executives.

•        A builder's mindset: prototypes over position papers, comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities.

•        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

•        Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure experience (data platform, hosting, Entra ID).

•        Higher-education data: SIS (Anthology or similar), Canvas LMS, student portals.

•        Time on the client side of vendor-built platforms, so you know how to protect the buyer's interests while keeping partners productive.

•        Consulting or professional-services experience, embedded with a single strategic client.

•        Bilingual English and Spanish.

•        Master's degree; certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, Dynamics 365, or CISSP / Security+.
