  • Establish controls for month-end close, consolidations, and multi-entity reconciliations.
  • Design and implement FP&A frameworks for sports club operations such as budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and revenue modelling across ticketing, sponsorship, broadcasting, and commercial streams.

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex F&A issues such as transfer fee amortization, player contract accounting, deferred income, and audit queries.
  • Provide technical accounting opinions and structured solutions for high-stakes or ambiguous transactions.
  • Manage and align expectations of senior stakeholders - C-suite, Board, investors, and external parties - through clear financial narratives and executive-quality reporting.
  • Translate finance complexity into plain language for non-finance decision-makers.
Must-Have Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 7 years in Finance & Accounting with meaningful experience in sports clubs or sports organizations.
  • Experience with professional sports leagues, clubs, or governing bodies (e.g., Premier League, NFL, NBA, La Liga, IPL, or national federations).
  • Proven exposure to senior leadership - Board presentations, C-suite advisory, or equivalent strategic finance roles.
  • Hands-on experience with sports-specific F&A complexities: transfer windows, salary caps, kit/sponsorship accounting, or stadium financials.
  • Strong command of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce concise, board-level outputs.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with sports financial regulations - UEFA Financial Sustainability Rules, salary cap frameworks, or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 or specialist sports finance advisory practice.
  • Proficiency in ERP/FP&A tools (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Exposure to multi-currency consolidations and international tax structures in sports organizations.
