Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist – Entry Level to join the Edward Jones Income Tax Team. This is an excellent opportunity for students or entry level candidates pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in corporate tax accounting.
In this role, you will assist with income tax reporting, tax provision calculations, financial data analysis, and reconciliation activities while collaborating with internal teams and a third-party tax preparation firm. The position offers flexible work hours to accommodate academic schedules.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly income tax accruals and tax provision calculations.
  • Assist in reviewing income tax filings and other tax deliverables prepared by a third-party tax preparer.
  • Extract, merge, transform, and reconcile financial data from multiple systems to support income tax calculations.
  • Analyze financial information and ensure the accuracy of tax-related data.
  • Support monthly and quarterly income tax reconciliation activities.
  • Respond to routine tax reporting inquiries from internal business partners.
  • Collaborate with Partnership Support, Asset Management, and other internal teams to resolve tax-related questions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and tax reporting requirements.
  • Assist with special tax projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Interest in Tax Accounting, Corporate Accounting, or Financial Reporting.
  • Available to work 15–20 hours per week during business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Power Query or Tableau Prep.
  • Previous internship, coursework, or project experience in accounting, finance, or tax.
  • Basic understanding of income tax concepts and financial statements.
Work Schedule
  • Part-Time (15–20 hours per week)
  • Flexible schedule based on class availability
  • Work hours must fall between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM CST
