Role Summary
This senior-level IT project management position involves leading the full lifecycle of complex, high-visibility IT projects within a structured PMO environment. The role requires managing multi-year initiatives that involve significant risk, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring project delivery aligns with scope, schedule, and budget expectations while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the single point of contact for assigned projects, overseeing all phases from initiation through closeout.
- Develop project plans, establish scope, set schedules, allocate resources, and manage budgets to ensure objectives are met.
- Provide strategic guidance to engineering and technical teams on risk analysis, alternative approaches, and conceptual design presentations for key stakeholders.
- Manage Meter to Cash IT projects, ensuring they meet project specifications, deadlines, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement company-wide project management best practices, standards, and governance processes.
- Prepare and present formal project updates, proposals, and reports to executive leadership and senior management.
- Resolve conflicts within project teams and supporting organizations, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Interface with vendors, external partners, and supporting organizations, including managing formal partnering agreements.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating concerns as necessary to maintain delivery commitments.
- Mentor and guide less experienced project managers, promoting professional development and best practices across teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering, or construction environments.
- Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, with ongoing maintenance of certification.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-year projects with substantial risk factors.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with executive teams, stakeholders, and technical staff.
- Proven track record as the sole accountable project leader for scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
- Excellent conflict resolution, stakeholder management, and writing skills.
- Working knowledge of enterprise IT project management tools, standards, and governance processes.
- Experience managing IT projects within regulated environments is preferred.
Publishing Pay Range: $55.00 - $69.00 hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between remote work and onsite presence as needed to meet with project teams and stakeholders.
