About the Role
We are seeking a
Product Manager – Retail Marketing to lead product strategy, customer engagement, marketing, and go-to-market initiatives for a retail-focused mobile application. This is a senior product role at the intersection of
Product Management, Retail, Marketing, Digital Commerce, and Technology
. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing digital products within a retail environment and will be responsible for translating customer and market needs into product strategies that drive adoption, engagement, customer value, and revenue growth.
The role requires a strong understanding of the retail ecosystem, excellent cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with business, marketing, merchandising, operations, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and evolve product vision, positioning, value propositions, and long-term roadmap. Align product strategy with customer needs, market trends, and business objectives. Establish product priorities based on customer insights, business impact, and market opportunities. Translate strategic objectives into actionable product roadmaps and requirements. Market & Customer Insights
Conduct competitive analysis, customer research, and market assessments. Monitor retail and digital commerce trends to identify emerging opportunities.
Analyze customer behavior and feedback to inform product strategy and prioritization. Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, engagement, and product value. Go-to-Market Strategy
Develop go-to-market strategies for new products, capabilities, and features. Define product messaging, positioning, and value propositions. Develop retail-specific activation and launch plans. Partner with marketing and business teams to drive successful product launches and adoption.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with marketing, sales, merchandising, retail operations, engineering, and other stakeholders. Establish priorities and drive alignment across cross-functional teams. Lead product initiatives from strategy through execution. Influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority. Retail Marketing & Campaigns
Develop and manage omnichannel marketing initiatives across mobile, digital, and retail channels. Drive initiatives designed to increase product adoption, engagement, retention, and revenue.
Partner with marketing teams to align campaigns with product strategy and customer needs. Optimize marketing initiatives based on performance data and customer insights. Product Enablement
Develop sales playbooks, training materials, product messaging, and customer-facing collateral. Create enablement materials tailored to retail stakeholders, buyers, and business users. Ensure internal and external stakeholders understand product capabilities, value, and positioning.
Product & Performance Analytics
Define and monitor key product and business metrics, including:
Conversion
Engagement
Adoption
Retention
Customer behavior
Product and category performance
Use analytics and customer insights to continuously improve product and marketing strategies. Identify performance trends and opportunities for optimization. Customer Engagement
Develop strategies and programs that strengthen retailer and customer relationships. Improve the overall customer experience across mobile, digital, and physical retail channels.
Identify opportunities to increase customer engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value. Product Lifecycle Management
Own the product lifecycle from concept and launch through ongoing enhancement and optimization. Define product priorities and enhancement strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Evaluate product performance and make data-driven decisions regarding future investment and development. Revenue & Growth
Identify opportunities to increase adoption and market share. Develop strategies to improve product and business profitability.
Identify potential new revenue opportunities through product, marketing, and customer engagement initiatives. Use market and customer insights to support sustainable product growth. Stakeholder Management
Present product strategy, performance, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Communicate product priorities, progress, risks, and opportunities clearly. Build alignment across business, technology, marketing, merchandising, and operations teams. Drive informed decision-making through data, customer insights, and market analysis.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of overall professional experience
, including at least
5+ years of hands-on Product Management experience
. Proven experience managing digital products, mobile applications, retail technology, e-commerce platforms, or consumer-facing products. Strong understanding of the retail industry, including:
Customer journeys
Retail operations
Merchandising
Digital commerce
Omnichannel experiences
Demonstrated experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, positioning, prioritization, and go-to-market initiatives.
Experience partnering closely with engineering, marketing, sales, merchandising, and operations teams. Strong understanding of retail marketing and customer engagement strategies. Experience using product and customer analytics to measure performance and drive product decisions. Ability to translate customer needs, market insights, and business objectives into product requirements and actionable roadmaps. Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing or marketing a retail mobile application or consumer-facing digital product
.
Experience with omnichannel retail, loyalty, personalization, promotions, or customer engagement platforms.
Experience with digital marketing, product analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, or customer data platforms.
Experience working with large retailers, retail technology platforms, or e-commerce organizations.
MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Technology, or a related field.
