Position Title: Senior Product Manager
Location: Remote - Quarterly travel required for PI Planning (Washington, D.C. or Wilmington, DE)
Duration: 12 Months
Skillset Summary:
The Enterprise Platforms & Enablement (EPE) portfolio supports client s business lines by modernizing technology infrastructure, improving engineering practices, and enhancing reliability and agility. The Connecting value stream spans across Connectivity & Secure/Compliant Access, Reliability & Availability, and Continuous Operations & Maintenance. The Product Manager plays a key role in the Agile Release Train (ART), driving the shift from a project-based to a product-based model and championing the delivery and ongoing evolution of "platform as a product" in collaboration with Engineering, Architecture, Agility Enablement, and other stakeholders. You will drive the execution of product strategy across multiple products and teams within the EPE portfolio, prioritize outcomes across value streams, and create long-term product roadmaps that are aligned with technology roadmaps. You will lead Product Owners in delivering value, while coordinating with product, DT, and business stakeholders to set high-level priorities. Require a strong IT infrastructure background with deep expertise in network connectivity and access, as well as proven experience ensuring network reliability, availability, and performance across complex enterprise environments. The successful candidate will have deep understanding of networking concepts, either from work in that technical area or as a product leader for a large networking team. The client s network is nationwide in a distributed model that is unique. This role will lead the established product owners in a much-needed strategy layer, helping to ensure the portfolio goals are being translated to the product owners while ensuring the needs of our customers and partners are met. This position will work closely with the portfolio product leader as well as the leaders of both architecture and the network team.
Responsibilities:
Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap: Apply and reinforce effective Product Management practices. Develop a deep understanding of business objectives and processes to inform product priorities across multiple products of varying complexity. Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive long-term product strategy within a portfolio to deliver business value.
Prioritization: Manage the prioritization and backlog of features and user stories based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility, ensuring the team works on high-priority items.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, and development teams, to ensure everyone is aligned with the product vision
Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with Product Manager, Product Owners, Engineering, Architecture, Agility Enablement, and other stakeholders to ensure that features for customers and frontline employees are cohesive and deliver business value towards running a successful passenger railroad.
Thought Leadership: Capture, develop, and promote effective Product Management practices within DT and with stakeholders.
Agile Framework: Implement and champion the principles of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring agile methodologies are followed.
Metrics and Analysis: Define and track success metrics to measure the value and identify areas for improvement or pivots.
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery.
Deep understanding of networking concepts as they apply to a distributed network. Concepts such as firewalls, cloud, vlan, and segmented networking will be predominant topics in conversations.
Should be well versed in ITSM concepts including change management practices
Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with Jira Software, Confluence, FigJam, Jira Align, AgilityHealth, and similar tools
Bachelor s degree or equivalent applied experience
Required: 9-12 years of relevant experience, leadership experience in managing product teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience with agile methodologies, with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience preferred. Candidates with POPM or ITIL certifications will rise to the top of the candidate pool.
