Senior CDN Platform Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior CDN Platform Engineer with 5+ years of experience designing, operating, securing, and optimizing enterprise-scale CDN and edge delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Akamai expertise, multi-cloud experience, automation/IaC skills, networking knowledge, and the ability to leverage AI/AIOps for platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with CDN, edge delivery, networking, or related infrastructure platforms.

• Hands-on expertise with Akamai Property Manager, Edge DNS, GTM, Cloudlets, Bot Manager, and WAF/security products.

• Working knowledge of Cloudflare or other enterprise CDN platforms.

• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python plus at least one of Node.js, Java, JavaScript, Shell, or PowerShell.

• Strong experience with Terraform, GitOps, Ansible, CI/CD, version control, and Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/mTLS, proxies, load balancing, CDN routing.

• Experience with REST APIs, API acceleration/caching, API gateways, Postman, and API security.

• Multi-cloud experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including containers, Kubernetes, and edge computing.

• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, or Akamai TrafficPeak.

• Strong experience with WAF, DDoS protection, Bot Management, rate limiting, certificate management, API security, and Zero Trust.

• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across CDN, DNS, network, cloud, application, API, and security layers.

• Experience with AI/Generative AI, AIOps, intelligent automation, self-healing, or automated remediation is highly desirable.

• Strong communication, technical leadership, mentoring, architecture, incident response, and RCA skills.
