Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke m/w/d | Gerolstein, Germany | Hybrid We're hiring for a leading player in the energy sector, deeply involved in shaping the future of energy infrastructure and contributing to climate protection goals. This organisation is at the forefront of the energy transition, implementing new and modernising existing substation projects across medium, high, and extra-high voltage levels. The Role • Oversee and execute commissioning tests for electrical components and complete substation renewal and new construction projects. • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems in collaboration with internal expert teams. • Configure and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices for high and medium voltage applications. • Perform precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment. • Contribute to the successful implementation of energy transmission and distribution projects, including grid connections for renewable energy parks. • Collaborate effectively with project management, planning, and installation teams. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in the field of electrical engineering. • Solid knowledge and practical experience in protection and control technology. • Experience in the commissioning of switchgear, adhering to common communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104). • Familiarity with configuration software such as Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1, and testing software like OMICRON TestUniverse is advantageous. • Strong team player with excellent decision-making and communication skills, including fluent German. • Valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel (typically Monday-Thursday).
