Description

We are hiring a Lead Systems Administrator to keep the environments behind a federal health supply chain platform running. You will own system health across the estate, handle the problems that get escalated past everyone else, and automate the work that should not be manual. This position is fully remote within the United States.

What you will do

• Own administration and health of the server and application environments supporting the product line.
• Take escalated problems that other administrators could not resolve and close them out.
• Automate routine administration so it stops consuming the team's time.
• Own backup, recovery and patching, and prove they work rather than assuming.
• Set administration standards and mentor less experienced administrators.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of systems administration experience.
• Deep Linux or Windows Server administration in a production environment.
• Scripting and automation experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python or Ansible).
• Backup, recovery and patch management ownership with demonstrated restores.
• Administering systems to a federal security baseline such as STIGs, including scanning, remediation and evidence for accreditation.
• Operating containerized workloads (Kubernetes or OpenShift) in a cloud environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

Preferred qualifications

• Experience on federal health IT programs.
• Cloud administration on AWS or Azure, including government regions.
• Migrating workloads from on-premises into a federal cloud environment.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Monitoring and observability tooling ownership.
• Experience in SAFe at scale, including Program Increment planning.
• Familiarity with federal IT governance and approved-tooling processes.

$139,000 - $153,000 a year

The posted range is base annual salary, placement within the range depends on qualifications, relevant experience, and contract requirements.

Citizenship

• Applicants need to be a US Citizen to be considered for the position and have physically resided in the United States for a minimum of 3 years due to background investigation requirements.
