Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join an Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorders Service within a leading private hospital group in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly specialised service, supporting young people with complex eating disorder presentations as part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team. The role is 3 days per week (22.5 hours), offering flexibility alongside excellent professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.

  • Lead ward rounds, MDT meetings, and clinical reviews.

  • Provide oversight of complex case management, including higher-risk patients.

  • Support patients and families through treatment decisions, relapse prevention, and recovery pathways.

  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and healthcare professionals.

  • Drive service development and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in the on-call rota (details to be discussed at interview).

Requirements

  • GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register.

  • Experience in adolescent psychiatry and/or eating disorders.

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
