L3 DC Technician

Role Summary
This role involves supporting the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise server, storage, and network hardware within large-scale data center environments. Responsible for performing advanced hardware installation, configuration, and decommissioning activities, ensuring optimal infrastructure performance. The position requires collaboration across multiple teams to resolve complex technical issues and maintain infrastructure reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and decommission enterprise-grade server, storage, and network hardware.
• Perform advanced rack and stack activities, including rail installation, structured cabling, power distribution, and hardware integration.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures involving servers, GPUs, storage systems, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure components.
• Execute firmware updates, BIOS configuration changes, hardware replacements, and system validation procedures.
• Support large-scale hardware deployments, refreshes, migrations, and expansion projects.
• Monitor data center environment conditions and equipment status using DCIM and monitoring tools to ensure optimal operation.
• Follow established operational procedures, change management processes, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, networking, facilities, logistics, and vendor teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior technicians by providing technical guidance, training, and escalation support.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, ESD procedures, security policies, and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.
• Strong understanding of x86 server architecture, GPU-based systems, storage platforms, and enterprise networking equipment.
• Hands-on experience with rack and stack deployments, structured cabling (copper and fiber), and hardware diagnostics.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems (PDUs) and remote management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, IPMI, and Redfish.
• Familiarity with Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 networking concepts, including reading rack elevations, network diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and basic command-line troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with ticketing and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, participate in on-call rotations, and support maintenance windows outside standard hours.

Publishing Pay Range: $42.35 - $44.92 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
