Job Description We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices and a proven ability to design, build, containerize, and modernize backend services with autonomy.

Responsibilities: Design application code and implement technical solutions across environments to address business needs. Develop applications to solve analytical and transactional problems. Execute all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing. Design and implement product features, reusable components, frameworks, and libraries with business and IT stakeholders. Partner with strategic customers to containerize applications using modern containerization methodologies.

Develop best practices for containerizing and modernizing diverse application platforms. Code, test, release, and support backend services and data integrations. Design software solutions to address complex engineering challenges. Automate build, test, and deployment processes for robust delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical degree or equivalent related work experience. Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot for backend microservices. Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture. Experience with AWS services for building and operating cloud-native applications. Knowledge of Backbase APIs and API management concepts. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy as a senior developer. Experience level: 5+ years in backend engineering or similar roles.

Preferred Skills: Background in banking, payments, or money movement domains. Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery practices. Why BCforward?
