Senior Snowflake Data Engineer – Azure

### Job Description
We are seeking an experienced **Senior Snowflake Data Engineer** with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, SQL, and Python to support a large-scale state government data lake and analytics project.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
### Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines using **Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)**.
* Implement data ingestion, validation, cleansing, transformation, aggregation, and publishing processes.
* Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and Snowflake data models.
* Work with Snowpipe, COPY INTO, streams, tasks, dynamic tables, and Snowpark (Python).
* Build scalable data transformation workflows using dbt, Apache Airflow, or ADF.
* Implement data quality, governance, security, and access controls using Snowflake RBAC, masking policies, and row access policies.
* Integrate Snowflake with Azure services, including Azure Functions, Event Grid, Service Bus, and Key Vault.
* Optimize Snowflake performance, query execution, and warehouse resource utilization.
* Collaborate with BI and analytics teams using Power BI and Tableau.
* Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps.

### Preferred Qualifications
* **12+ years of overall data engineering experience.**
* Strong hands-on Snowflake development experience.
* Experience implementing enterprise data lake solutions on Azure.
* Experience with Databricks and Delta Lake.
* SnowPro or other Snowflake certifications.
* Previous state government or public-sector project experience.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Purview.
* Experience with HL7 v2 or FHIR healthcare data standards is a plus.
