Security Officer – Access Control & Patrol

Poughkeepsie, NY | Multiple Schedules | $21.00/Hour

We are currently seeking professional and dependable Security Officers to join our team at a high-profile commercial construction site in Poughkeepsie, NY.

These positions offer opportunities in both access control/gate operations and security patrols. We are looking for officers who are reliable, professional, observant, and comfortable interacting with employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors.

Available Schedules

Patrol Officer Positions

• Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM | 16 hours/week
• Friday–Tuesday: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM | 40 hours/week
• Sunday–Tuesday: 12:00 AM–8:00 AM + Wednesday–Thursday: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM | 40 hours/week
• Wednesday–Saturday: 12:00 AM–8:00 AM | 32 hours/week

Access Control / Gate Officer Positions

• Monday–Wednesday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM | 30 hours/week — 2 openings
• Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM | 40 hours/week — 2 openings
• Thursday–Saturday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM | 30 hours/week — 2 openings
• Friday–Saturday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM | 20 hours/week — 2 openings

 

Pay: $21.00/hour

What You'll Do

Depending on your assigned post, responsibilities may include:

• Monitor and control access to the property
• Verify employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
• Monitor entry and exit points
• Maintain accurate visitor and access records
• Conduct scheduled security patrols
• Monitor site activity and identify potential security concerns
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
• Prepare detailed daily activity and incident reports
• Enforce site security policies and procedures
• Provide professional customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence
• Communicate security concerns to site management and the security team

Required Qualifications

• Active NYS Driver’s License
• Clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be willing to provide proof of education
• Valid NYS Security Guard License strongly preferred
• Previous security, access control, construction site, corporate, or customer service experience is a plus
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift

Important Security License Requirement

A valid NYS Security Guard License is strongly preferred.

If you previously held a NYS Security Guard License that has expired, we cannot consider you for these positions, as the renewal/relicensing process may take approximately 3–4 months.
