Job Description

Network Protection Technician / Substation Commissioning Technician (m/f/d) | Cham, Germany | Hybrid We're hiring on behalf of a leading player in the energy infrastructure sector, dedicated to driving the energy transition and achieving climate protection goals. The Role • Commission new and modernized medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV in the southeastern German region, ensuring the flow of green energy. • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with internal expert teams and driving process improvements. • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field devices from leading brands (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB). • Perform precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment. • Contribute to projects connecting industrial facilities, wind farms, and solar parks to the energy grid. • Work closely with project leadership, planning, and assembly teams to ensure successful project execution. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering. • Proven experience and technical knowledge in protection/control technology, ideally with independent commissioning of switchgear. • Familiarity with standard communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104). • Experience with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1) and testing software (e.g., OMICRON TestUniverse) is advantageous. • Strong team player with excellent communication and decision-making skills, including fluent German. • Possession of a valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel regionally (typically Mon-Thu).
