Job Description

AWS Cloud Engineer
Remote - working EST hours
CDW Contract role / W2 only
6 months, with potential to convert


CDW is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure automation, governance, and DevOps practices. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining scalable AWS environments while driving Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support AWS Landing Zones and multi-account cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (HCL) and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Manage and optimize AWS Control Tower, IAM, security controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Build and support solutions leveraging AWS Lambda and Amazon Bedrock.
  • Develop automation and tooling using Python.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and source control best practices.
  • Support application and infrastructure code promotion, testing, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to improve cloud reliability, scalability, and automation.

Required Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Landing Zones, Control Tower, and IAM.
  • Strong development experience with Terraform (HCL).
  • Experience with AWS CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation.
  • Expertise with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and source control management.
  • Experience supporting code deployment and release management within cloud environments.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda and cloud-native automation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD automation.
