Job Description

Director / Managing Director

Office of the CFO Advisory & Performance Improvement

Locations: Miami, New York, Houston, or San Francisco

Drive Value Creation. Lead Transformations. Build Relationships.

We are partnering with an innovative advisory firm that works directly with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies to solve complex financial and operational challenges. The firm operates where finance, strategy, and execution intersect, helping management teams improve performance, enhance reporting, optimize liquidity, and drive enterprise value creation.

This is an opportunity for a proven advisor and business builder who thrives in the financial weeds, enjoys leading client engagements, and has the credibility to develop new private equity relationships. The ideal candidate combines the technical rigor of a turnaround professional with the commercial mindset required to originate and grow client relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Office of the CFO and performance improvement engagements for private equity-backed businesses.

  • Serve as the senior advisor to CFOs, CEOs, sponsors, and boards on complex financial and operational initiatives.

  • Partner with portfolio company leadership teams to improve forecasting, reporting, liquidity management, working capital performance, and decision-making processes.

  • Evaluate financial performance, identify operational improvement opportunities, and implement actionable solutions.

  • Lead engagement teams through assessment, planning, execution, and results delivery.

  • Build and deepen relationships with private equity firms, investment professionals, lenders, and corporate executives.

  • Identify and originate new business opportunities while contributing to the firm's continued growth.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering a high-performance culture.

Skills Required

  • Significant experience in Office of the CFO consulting, performance improvement, turnaround advisory, or related financial consulting environments.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex engagements for private equity-backed companies.

  • Strong understanding of finance operations, forecasting, FP&A, cash flow management, KPI development, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working closely with sponsors, executive leadership teams, and boards of directors.

  • Proven business development capabilities and an existing network within the private equity ecosystem.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple engagements while serving as the trusted advisor to clients.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Why This Opportunity?

This firm sits in a highly attractive segment of the advisory market, helping sponsors and portfolio companies execute initiatives that directly impact financial performance and value creation. The work is hands-on and implementation-oriented, with professionals embedded in the key financial and operational decisions driving business outcomes.

The leadership team is seeking individuals who can not only deliver exceptional client results but also expand the platform through new private equity relationships and strategic growth opportunities.

If you're a senior advisor looking for a platform where you can lead engagements, influence outcomes, and directly contribute to firm growth, we'd welcome the opportunity to connect.
