Job Description

Marriott is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead property engineering and maintenance operations for our full-service hotel. In this role, you will oversee building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations that support an exceptional guest experience. You will design and manage preventive maintenance programs, supervise and train the engineering team, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure compliance with all local codes and Marriott standards. The Chief Engineer partners closely with hotel leadership on capital projects, energy management, and long-term asset protection while modeling Marriott's people-first culture and commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily engineering and maintenance operations for hotel facilities, systems, and equipment
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure safety, reliability, and guest comfort
  • Supervise, schedule, and train engineering and maintenance staff to Marriott standards
  • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and compliance with local codes and regulations
  • Monitor energy usage and implement cost-effective, sustainable building solutions
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and guest-impacting maintenance issues
  • Oversee capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to support guest satisfaction and operational goals
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA standards, and Marriott engineering procedures
