Job Description

Cargill is seeking a Director, Application Development to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise applications supporting global manufacturing and supply chain operations. In this role, you will oversee multiple development teams, set technical direction, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business goals. You will partner with product, operations, and security leaders to prioritize roadmaps, modernize legacy systems, and drive cloud-first and data-driven initiatives. You will champion best practices, foster a culture of continuous learning, and mentor managers and engineers in an inclusive, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute application development strategy aligned to Cargill's manufacturing objectives
  • Lead and mentor managers and engineering teams across multiple application portfolios
  • Oversee end-to-end software delivery, quality, security, and reliability
  • Collaborate with operations, product, and security leaders to prioritize technology roadmaps
  • Drive modernization of legacy systems and adoption of cloud-first architectures
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and governance
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning for development initiatives
  • Ensure applications meet compliance, safety, and data protection requirements
  • Promote inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation in tools, processes, and architectures
