Position Overview
This position will participate in the overall strategic leadership, direction, evaluation, and effective management of all aspects of NIDC’s Finance & Administration department. The DFA is a senior organizational leadership position. They will participate in NIDC's ongoing evolution by implementing our three-year strategic plan and other organizational and leadership processes.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

Departmental
Participate in the development, oversight, and modification of organization, program, and contract budgets
Ensure all invoices are optimally prepared, submitted, and followed up on in a timely fashion
Prepare weekly dashboard and cash flow projections
Oversee Payroll and A/P
Oversee all online portal tasks
Compliance with all government/non-government contracting requirements and all federal, NYS, and NYC filings
Lead contract and organizational audit processes
Conduct internal audits
Monitor credit card usage and allocation to the correct fund/contract
Oversee departmental purchasing processes and the timely submission of required documentation
Prepare and present regular and special analyses and reports for internal and external constituencies
Present financial reports to the NIDC Board of Directors & work with the Finance Committee
Supervise, lead, mentor, and develop department staff
Ensure all equipment purchased is inventoried and tracked
Establish and achieve annual departmental goals
Under the supervision of the Executive Director/Associate Executive Director and working in collaboration with PEO, monitor all HR processes
Organizational
Act as a role model for all staff
Participate in strategic planning, organizational development, and internal culture
Represent the organization at events, conferences, and forums as an NIDC ambassador
Able to build alliances and partnerships with organizations that enhance our programming and increase the resources available to our communities
Contribute to fundraising efforts to enhance program resources
Fulfilling all other duties deemed vital to the function of the organization by the executive team
Attend required/requested workshops
Occasional evenings and weekend events
Required Attributes
MUST have strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and P&L orientation (yes, even in a nonprofit setting)
High level of attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
Strong work ethic and professional values
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as a strong EI/EQ (Emotional Intelligence)
Able to work autonomously and thrive in NIDC’s highly interdependent and dynamic environment
Experience leading teams and managing change in high-growth or rapidly changing contexts; ability to be flexible, agile, and seamlessly pivot a team’s direction
Able to demonstrate cultural competency with diverse communities
Desire to learn and grow as part of an expanding organization; team player with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem-solving
Able to work with a variety of learning abilities
Healthy sense of humor
