Job Title: Technical Project Manager - AI Governance - Remote / Telecommute

Job Location: Cary, NC

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $45.00hr - $50.00hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will provide technical project management and business analysis expertise to deliver AI Governance and enterprise AI Platform capabilities. The role involves partnering across cross-functional engineering, product, and governance teams to translate complex requirements into actionable release plans.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in technical project/program management, product management, business analysis, or a combination of these disciplines within a technology or digital-product environment.
  • Strong technical project/program management and product management experience, with the ability to independently drive technical platform features and enhancements from discovery through production release.
  • Experience delivering technical products, platform capabilities, or software features through the full development lifecycle, including requirements, development, QA/testing, release, and production.
  • Strong experience developing business and functional requirements, BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other delivery documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, QA/testing, and production release processes.
  • Working knowledge of technical concepts including APIs, system integrations, environments, data flows, dependencies, and security considerations.
  • Demonstrated strength in requirements analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Ability to partner effectively across Product, UX/UI, Engineering, QA, and business teams and translate business/user needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams, navigate ambiguity, identify gaps and risks, drive decisions, and maintain accountability through delivery.
  • Strong product and end-user mindset, including the ability to understand what should be built, why it is needed, and how the solution supports intended business and user outcomes.
  • Bachelor s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • U.S.-based, with sufficient working-hour overlap to collaborate with U.S.- and India-based teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting AI, AI Governance, Responsible AI, risk, compliance, or enterprise AI/platform initiatives.
  • Experience working within a large, complex enterprise environment involving multiple products, business areas, technical teams, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience supporting or managing enterprise platform products and capabilities with cross-system integrations and dependencies.
  • Strong product management experience, including research, discovery, ideation, solution definition, requirements development, prioritization, and feature delivery.
  • Experience facilitating requirements deep dives, solutioning sessions, stakeholder working sessions, and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Experience working with globally distributed technical and business teams.
  • PMP, CSM/PSM, SAFe, Product Management, Business Analysis, or related certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Eastern or Central time zone preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly develop deep knowledge of the AI Governance and broader AI Platform ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead AI Governance and AI Platform feature delivery from research, discovery, and ideation through requirements, development, QA/testing, release, and production, progressively taking independent ownership of assigned features and workstreams.
  • Own requirements development and solution definition, including stakeholder research, requirements deep dives, BRDs, business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other documentation required to move features into development.
  • Drive cross-functional technical delivery by partnering with Product, UX/UI, front-end and back-end Engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to define scope, clarify requirements, coordinate dependencies, resolve blockers, and maintain alignment.
  • Provide hands-on technical project/program management and Scrum support, including planning, backlog and release coordination, working sessions, action tracking, risk and dependency management, stakeholder follow-up, and delivery readiness.
  • Translate business and technical needs into actionable platform solutions, supporting discussions involving APIs, integrations, environments, data flows, dependencies, security considerations, and other platform requirements while maintaining a strong product and end-user perspective.
