Computer Security System Specialist - Level III

Role Summary
This role involves executing incident handling and response activities within a cybersecurity environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing security incidents, analyzing network traffic, and utilizing security tools to mitigate threats. This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practical experience in security operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform incident response, analysis, and remediation activities.
• Utilize security tools and the security stack to detect and analyze threats.
• Monitor security alerts and investigate potential security breaches.
• Conduct packet analysis and network protocol examination to identify malicious activity.
• Manage and interpret data within security information and event management (SIEM) systems, specifically Splunk.
• Support security operations by implementing proactive security measures.
• Document incident details and response actions accurately.
• Collaborate with team members to improve security processes and protocols.
• Assist in developing and maintaining security documentation and policies.
• Keep abreast of evolving cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in incident handling and response activities.
• Hands-on knowledge of security tools and security stack components.
• Working experience with Splunk or similar SIEM systems.
• Basic understanding of network protocols and packet analysis tools.
• Strong cybersecurity background with practical experience in threat detection.
• Ability to analyze complex security data and identify potential threats.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Availability to work in an on-site environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
• This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.

Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 - $80.00 USD Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
