Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Job/Role Description:

Lead the design, development, and automation of end-to-end reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI.
Design and build scalable Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and reusable business intelligence solutions.
Automate data validation, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
Automate data refreshes, monitoring, error handling, and data quality controls.
Design, build, test, and support automated ETL pipelines supporting Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards.
Integrate and transform data from enterprise data sources using reusable and scalable ingestion patterns.
Optimize Power BI data models for performance, scalability, and usability.
Implement data quality, lineage, security, and governance controls across reporting solutions.
Optimize semantic models, metadata, and business definitions to improve AI-driven analytics and natural language query experiences.
Enable self-service analytics through scalable reporting solutions and reusable data assets.
Lead complex development initiatives independently and drive projects through completion.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership and guidance.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-impact analytics solutions.
Maintain clear technical documentation for reporting solutions, data models, and development processes.
Work proactively to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
This is a contract position with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications

Advanced hands-on experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Power BI.
Strong experience with Power BI data modeling and semantic models.
Experience designing and supporting scalable business intelligence and reporting solutions.
Experience with GitHub and source control practices.
Proficiency with Python.
Strong experience with data integration, transformation, and data validation.
Experience automating reporting, testing, monitoring, refreshes, and data quality processes.
Strong understanding of data quality, governance, lineage, and security concepts.
Strong technical documentation skills.
Ability to independently lead complex technical projects from design through implementation.
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
Self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Experience with ETL processes preferred.
Experience working within Agile development methodologies preferred.
