Job description

UX/UI Developer/HTML/AI

Location New York, NY

Employment Full-time, senior level

Compensation $200,000(base)+

Overview

A hybrid design-and-build role: the developer both designs user interfaces and writes the production front-end

code for the firm's AI-enabled legal applications. The stack is deliberately lightweight and server-rendered

(HTML, Tailwind CSS, vanilla JavaScript, hypermedia frameworks such as HTMX or Datastar) rather than a

heavy single-page-application framework. The interfaces support AI review workflows such as source-linked

findings, dense review tables, and approval steps.

Key Responsibilities

Design clear, visually strong interfaces for the firm's digital platforms.

Work with developers and product managers to understand product requirements and user needs.

Run user research and iterate interfaces based on feedback.

Build and optimize the UI in HTML, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.

Ship production-ready front-end code into existing applications and shared component libraries, following

version control, code review, and release practices.

Manage design assets and components for consistency and maintainability.

Adapt existing styles so multiple apps share one cohesive design language.

Design and build reusable interaction patterns for source-linked findings, high-density review tables,

long-running workflow status, approval checkpoints, document handling, and downloadable work products.

Requirements

Substantial professional experience in both UI/UX design and hands-on front-end development, with a

portfolio of shipped work showing both.

Strong hands-on skills building responsive, accessible interfaces with HTML, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla

JavaScript.

Git, code review workflows, and CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred).

Experience building UI in server-rendered web apps and template-based component systems (not only

SPA frameworks).

Solid grasp of UI design principles and the design process; agile and software development fundamentals.

Experience building reusable components and style guides, and standardizing an existing design language

across several applications.

Ability to collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.

Preferred / Nice to Have

Hypermedia / server-driven UI frameworks such as Datastar or HTMX, including reactive interfaces driven

by server-sent events.

Front-end testing and quality practices, including WCAG accessibility validation and cross-browser

debugging.
