About the RoleAn opportunity exists for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong cloud security expertise to join a high-performing cloud platforms team.
You will play a key role in designing, securing, deploying and supporting cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments. Working closely with architects, developers and operational teams, you will help deliver secure, scalable and highly available cloud services while driving automation, continuous improvement and operational maturity.
Key responsibilities include:- Designing, implementing and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Strengthening identity and access management controls across cloud platforms.
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation capabilities.
- Supporting cloud-native security monitoring and threat detection solutions.
- Troubleshooting complex cloud and networking issues.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineering teams.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting cloud best practices.
- Contributing to technical delivery planning, risk identification and mitigation activities.
- Initial 12-month contract with extension options.
- Primarily remote working arrangement.

- Exposure to leading cloud security technologies, automation practices and enterprise-scale platforms.
To be successful, you will bring significant experience delivering and securing cloud-based infrastructure, ideally within complex enterprise or government environments.
You will demonstrate:- Strong expertise across AWS cloud services and cloud security best practice.
- Experience with Enterprise Identity and Access Management technologies including Entra ID, SCIM and AWS IAM.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native security tooling such as AWS Security Hub, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Strong cloud networking knowledge within modern cloud environments.
- Experience operating and supporting highly available, scalable cloud solutions.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and uplift technical teams.
- Experience identifying and managing technical delivery risks while ensuring successful outcomes.

Location: The role is based in Barton, Canberra ACT.
Office Type: Onsite
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Estimated Hours: 40 per week
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of this position, candidates must hold a minimum Baseline security clearance.
Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
