Job Description

Newstaff Employment Services is excited to announce an opening for a Factory Operative at our facility in Hitchin. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the manufacturing process, ensuring that our production operations run smoothly and efficiently. As a Factory Operative, your key responsibilities will include operating machinery, assembling products, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be safety-conscious, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Assemble products with precision and efficiency according to specifications.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all products meet quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and schedules.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Participate in training and onboarding of new team members as required.
  • Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team.
  • Willingness to be flexible with shifts and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Overall understanding of health and safety practices in a factory setting is a plus.

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity with a pay increase after 3 months
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.30pm
