• Design, develop, and execute test cases for mainframe applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of mainframe applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and IMS environments.
• Validate batch jobs, file processing, data transformations, and application workflows.
• Perform DB2 database validation using SQL queries and verify data integrity across systems.
• Analyze JCL jobs, job outputs, return codes, abends, and logs to identify and troubleshoot defects.
• Validate batch and online transactions in CICS environments.
• Create and maintain detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation between mainframe and downstream/upstream applications.
• Execute regression testing during application enhancements, releases, and production fixes.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects using tools such as Jira, ALM, or Quality Center.
• Participate in requirements analysis, test planning, defect triage, and release activities.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and application support teams to resolve testing issues.
• Support ETL, data migration, and legacy-system modernization testing where applicable.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
