Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement and sourcing activities for a global automotive company. This role requires deep expertise in purchasing, supplier management, and contract negotiations, with a strong understanding of automotive components and prototype parts. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end purchasing and sourcing activities for automotive components and prototype parts
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and cost targets
- Review and interpret CAD drawings to support sourcing decisions and supplier discussions
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and issue resolution
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to support product development
- Utilize SAP for procurement processes, purchase orders, and supplier management
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support prototype builds and production readiness through effective supplier coordination
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, and/or contract management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in SAP Ariba.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel as needed
- Experience in automotive procurement, including prototype parts, a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, a nice to have
Location: Raymond, OH (onsite 4 days/week); first 6-months will require 5-days onsite.
Duration: 12+ months with possible extension
Hourly Rate: 35-43/hr DOE
