About the Role
Our client, a leading global retailer known for its large-scale omnichannel operations and innovation in data-driven decision-making, is seeking an experienced Data Product Manager to support the evolution of enterprise data capabilities. This role will focus on delivering high-value data products that enable business stakeholders to make informed decisions across store planning and retail operations.
As a key liaison between business stakeholders, analysts, source system teams, and data engineering teams, you will define, prioritize, and deliver data products while supporting a strategic migration and modernization initiative within a cloud-based data ecosystem. This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to influence enterprise-scale data transformation efforts.

Job Description
The Data Product Manager will lead the definition, development, and delivery of data products supporting store planning and operational analytics. This role requires a strong understanding of data, business processes, and agile product management practices to ensure business needs are translated into actionable requirements and successfully delivered solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business, analytics, reporting, and technology teams to identify business challenges and define data needs.
Translate stakeholder requirements into detailed data product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized deliverables.
Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritized based on business value, dependencies, risk, and delivery commitments.
Develop a strong understanding of source data and business processes to validate requirements and ensure solutions meet consumer needs.
Coordinate cross-functional dependencies across source systems, data engineering teams, reporting teams, and other product organizations.
Proactively identify and communicate risks, blockers, and project dependencies to stakeholders and leadership.
Partner with engineering, analysts, and business users to drive testing, validation, and successful implementation of data products.
Establish and monitor standards for data quality, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and usability.
Support data modernization and cloud migration initiatives, including the transition of existing data pipelines, datasets, and reporting capabilities to future-state platforms.
Communicate product strategy, priorities, delivery progress, risks, and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Champion agile delivery methodologies and promote continuous improvement across product development processes.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in Data Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a similar role supporting enterprise data platforms.
Experience managing data products throughout the full product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
Strong understanding of data analytics concepts and data-driven decision-making.
Experience working with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and large-scale data ecosystems.
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience defining business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Experience validating data quality and supporting testing efforts for analytical solutions.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery frameworks.
Proficiency with JIRA or similar backlog and project management tools.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including cloud-based data modernization initiatives.
Experience using BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics.
Familiarity with Looker, Power BI, or other business intelligence and reporting platforms.
Experience with metadata management, data governance, or data cataloging practices.
Knowledge of retail, store operations, supply chain, or store planning data domains.
Experience supporting large-scale cloud migration or enterprise data transformation programs.
