SAP Architect – Supply Chain Finance
Role summary
Own the end-to-end solution design for integrating SAP ECC with JPMorgan's supply chain finance platform. You will leverage the existing AS2 connection and establish a new XML channel for transmission, design the ECC payables and payment configuration behind it, and coordinate across RAPS, F&A, and Treasury while partnering with the technical project lead.
Key responsibilities
  • Design the target architecture across FI-AP, Treasury, and JPMorgan's supplier financing and payments platform, including all inbound and outbound flows.
  • Leverage the existing AS2 connection to JPMorgan and establish a new XML channel for transmission: partner agreement updates, AS2 IDs, certificate validation, MDN handling, and non-repudiation evidence for the new message types.
  • Design the XML payloads and mapping: invoice and approved-payable extracts outbound, financing and settlement status inbound, plus ISO 20022 pain.001 and pain.002 where JPM uses them on the payment leg.
  • Configure and govern the ECC payment stack: F110, house banks and payment methods, PMW and DMEE tree design for XML output, electronic bank statement (camt.053 or MT940) upload and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with RAPS and F&A on accounting treatment. They define it; you translate their decisions into the SAP design and confirm the postings, discounts, settlement, and open item clearing behave as they intend.
  • Work with AP and Treasury on vendor master data alignment between ECC and the JPM platform, including bank detail changes and supplier onboarding status.
  • Set the controls design: segregation of duties, dual approval on payment release, audit trail, and SOX evidence, including proof of message delivery.
  • Direct the BA's time and effort on this project: set the requirements agenda, review and approve functional specs and test scripts, and resolve open design questions. Scope of direction is limited to the Supply Chain Finance workstream.
  • Partner with the technical project lead (PM) on scope, sequencing, dependencies, and risk. You own the design; they own the plan. Escalate design decisions that carry schedule or cost impact early.
  • Act as the technical counterpart to JPMorgan's implementation team and to internal Treasury, AP, Tax, Security, and Network stakeholders.
  • Own design decisions through build, connectivity testing with JPM, UAT, cutover, and hypercare.
Required
  • 8+ years SAP, with at least 3 years as an architect on finance or treasury programs.
  • Deep SAP ECC FI-AP configuration knowledge: payment programs, house banks, payment methods, PMW and DMEE, electronic bank statement.
  • Experience transmitting XML over an established AS2 connection, including certificate validation and MDN troubleshooting.
  • XML and ISO 20022 fluency: schema design, mapping, and validation.
  • Experience directing a BA within a defined workstream and working alongside a project manager on a cross-functional program.
  • Ability to work directly with bank technical teams and translate between banking, treasury, and SAP terminology.
Preferred
  • Prior supply chain finance implementation experience
  • Familiarity with an S/4HANA roadmap, so the design does not become throwaway work.
