IT Assistant Manager

This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position that sits onsite (M-F, 8-5) in Alabama and will require up to 25% travel.

Position Overview

The IT Assistant Manager will provide technical leadership and support day-to-day IT operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for senior-level technical support while helping lead, mentor, and develop an IT support team. The ideal candidate is a broad-based IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills, experience supporting Microsoft environments, and previous technical leadership experience who is ready to take on greater management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support an IT Helpdesk team.
• Provide senior-level/L3 technical support and troubleshoot complex IT issues.
• Support and administer Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Exchange.
• Support IT infrastructure, networking, virtualization, endpoints, and remote management tools.
• Monitor helpdesk activity and assist with improving service levels and support processes.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, technology upgrades, and IT projects.
• Identify root causes and drive technical issues through resolution.
• Maintain documentation and support IT standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with technology vendors as needed.
• Travel periodically to support business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Level 3 / enterprise IT support experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft environments.
• 1+ year of technical leadership or team lead experience.
• Experience supporting networking and virtualization environments.
• Experience with RMM/remote management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and broad IT knowledge.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience and/or industry certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
