Google Cloud Platform Architect

Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Architect (Data & AI)
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Local Candidates Only)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, and implement end-to-end data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead large-scale data migration efforts from on-premises and/or other cloud platforms to Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and optimize robust, scalable data pipelines using tools such as Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Develop and manage data warehousing solutions using BigQuery, including schema design, partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
• Design and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions using Vertex AI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish and enforce cloud architecture best practices, security standards, and governance policies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and engineers.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Google Cloud Platform environments for performance and cost efficiency.
• Stay current with emerging Google Cloud Platform services and features, and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Must hold a valid Google Cloud Professional Architect certification.
• Proven experience in data migration and building data pipelines at enterprise scale.
• Deep hands-on expertise with BigQuery (schema design, performance tuning, cost optimization).
• Hands-on experience with Vertex AI for building and deploying ML models.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform services including Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and IAM.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices in the cloud.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Looker, Data Studio, or other BI tools.
• Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
