Job Description
Job Title: Junior Business AnalystLocation: New Jersey
Work Arrangement: Primarily remote; must report onsite to the office in New Jersey whenever requested by the client
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders to understand business needs and pain points.
- Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Work with product owners and technical teams to clarify requirements.
- Define acceptance criteria and support backlog refinement sessions.
- Assist QA teams with test scenarios, test cases, defect clarification, and UAT.
- Analyze data using Excel and basic SQL to identify trends and validate business requirements.
- Maintain requirements, tasks, and project updates in Jira and Confluence.
- Track project deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support process-improvement and change-management activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and project-status updates.
- Follow banking-industry standards related to data privacy, security, risk, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 1–3 years of Business Analyst, project coordination, operations analysis, or similar experience.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and Agile methodology.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, or process documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Basic SQL knowledge and ability to understand data relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to report onsite to the JPMC office in New Jersey whenever requested.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, financial services, payments, lending, cards, risk, compliance, or financial operations.
- Familiarity with business-process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
- Exposure to UAT, data validation, reporting, or dashboard tools.
- Knowledge of APIs, databases, or application-integration concepts.
- Understanding of Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile delivery frameworks.
